Fugitive Stories @ Farrington Nature Linc

Upcoming Events

Fugitive started with an idea, $300, and a website in late 2015. Since then, we’ve produced 400-plus shows and sold more than 30,000 tickets in Boston’s western ’burbs. You may have noticed fewer offerings recently as we have reduced our programming at Sanctuary in Maynard. But there’s lots to come.

Fugitive Stories @ Farrington Nature Linc

  • Farrington Nature Linc 291 Cambridge Turnpike Lincoln, MA 01773 (map)

Fugitive Stories and Farrington Nature Linc in Lincoln are partnering again for an evening of stories on the farm by a campfire. Our theme is “Nature Links.”

Hearing a true story in a live performance is fun, moving, and transformative. Every event brings surprises. As always, Fugitive’s featured tellers include Moth and Massmouth Story Slam Winners, GBH’s “Stories from the Stage” contributors, theater professionals, comedians, authors, podcast producers, teachers, and university professors. Several folks from the local community will also be telling their tales, some for the first time.

  • Tickets

  • Please plan to arrive by 7pm to park and find a seat. Storytelling starts at 7:30pm. This is an outdoor event (weather permitting). We’ll move indoors, if necessary.

In addition to hosting several storytellers from the Farrington community, Fugitive will be bringing a number of award-winning tellers, including:

Ari Daniel
Ari is an independent science reporter who contributes regularly to National Public Radio among other outlets. His radio pieces have aired on NPR, The World, Radiolab, Here & Now, and Living on Earth. Ari worked at NPR's science desk and was the Senior Digital Producer at NOVA. He is a co-recipient of the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Gold Award for his radio stories on glaciers and climate change in Greenland and Iceland. In the fifth grade, Ari won the “Most Contagious Smile” award.

Rachel Gans-Boriskin
Rachel is a partner at NOVL, a strategic management consulting firm specializing in workforce development. A former Communications Professor, she has performed at many storytelling venues in the Boston area including GBH’s “Stories from the Stage.” She lives in Central Mass with her husband, two children, seven chickens, two cats, and two neurotic Pomeranians.

Mark Modrall
Mark is a computer programmer from Littleton. He started telling stories in public in 2012 when he ran out of relatives who hadn’t heard that one before. Hopefully he’s gotten better at it since then. He’s won several story slams at the Moth, Massmouth, and a few other places. He’s been a featured speaker twice at WGBH’s “Stories From the Stage” and counts himself blessed that he’s occasionally invited to speak with other much better tellers at great venues like Fugitive Productions.

Susanne Schmidt
Susanne is a comedic storyteller and a producer for The Moth. Her work has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, National Public Radio and HBO’s Inspiration Room.
